    1. The ship is the Wingfield Castle, a former Humber Estuary ferry that was built in Hartlepool in 1934. It is now an attraction of The Historic Quay and is used as a restaurant. With this in mind, the girl could possibly be a tourist and the reading material might possibly be a tour guide. Will we ever know! Maybe she is a WordPress blogger….
