I went to church today

Well actually, I didn’t really go to church as in the usual meaning of the phrase. What I did do, was to roam around the grounds of the church, looking for photographic subjects. The Church of St. Mary Magdalene can be found in Hart villge which is situated on the outskirts of Hartlepool. The church itself dates back to Saxon times and was first built in AD 675. Have a look and see what you think.

All photos taken with an Olympus E1 with either 9-18mm or 14-54mm lens.

  1. Gorgeous photos David. Those berries are luscious. It’s a lovely village isn’t it? I do t’ai chi in the village hall and quite often our walks start from the church car park. We’re very lucky.

  2. Thanks to you both. Yes it is a lovely village and I return to this church at different times of the year. There is always a new photo opportunity with the changing seasons.

  3. Great photos! It so reminds me of a cemetery close by that I’ve been dying to, uh, okay, I mean desiring to spend some time in with my little camera. Love the third image especially! Keep up the great work.
