Thanks Jo. It was even more moody the day before, when, as quite often happens, I was too lazy to pick up my camera when leaving the house. The sea was quite rough and the foreground was covered in spray. The one that got away…..:)
Man against man’s destruction of his own life. The solitary man against the greedy society. Or just the sole man wandering in sadness along a destroyed shoreline. There are many ways to interpret this magnificent picture. The use of light, colour, forms and composition is excellent and enhances the story. Such beautiful picture in the sad reality it depicts – and thus having a great impact on the viewer.
I like this a lot – the lone walker vs the industrial might, the areas of light and dark and the picking out of the shapes in the early (late?) sun.
Correction – I love it!
The miasma of the loner’s mind is matched by the miasma of industry.
Must admit, I had to look up ‘miasma’, thanks for dropping by and like the quote.
Nice reflection.

Many thanks Mike.
Ooh, that’s a nice moody one. Must admit, it looked not dissimilar as I passed by on the bus this afternoon!

I hate those!
The horror, the horror!
Nice shot of a hideous subject
Thank you Alessandro. I agree that it can be hideous, but to a photographer, when the conditions are just right, this makes a superb subject
This is so sharp David.
Many thanks Jason.

Thank you so much Otto, really appreciated.
Love this and the feeling of the power of the mill vs the power of man!
Many thanks Harold.
